Kidgell drops 17 as Montana Western downs Yellowstone Christian

DILLON — The University of Montana Western Bulldogs (3-0) rolled to their second straight lopsided win over Yellowstone Christian College (0-5) 84-48 Saturday afternoon in Straugh Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs once again won the turnover margin, going plus-14 for the game, forcing 23 YCC turnovers and finishing with 12 steals. The strong defense opened up the offense as the Bulldogs shot 54 percent from the floor on 33 made field-goals.

Senior Kooper Kidgell led all scorers with 17 points on 7-11 shooting. Jaycob Payne (11 points) and Tanner Haverfield (10 points) both scored in double figures. Cedric Boone dished out seven dimes and pulled down four rebounds.

The Bulldogs are off this week and will return to action on Nov. 23 and 24 when they travel to Caldwell, Idaho to take part in the Taco Bell Shootout, where they will face Eastern Oregon and The College of Idaho.
