DILLON – The Montana Western women’s basketball team came into its season opener as the heavy favorite against Salish Kootenai. The Bulldogs did not falter one bit, winning by a final score of 99-23.
The offense got going early for the Bulldogs. Senior Tori Anderson got it going from deep and running the floor in transition, easily pushing the Bulldogs lead to double digits. She led all scorers with 19 points on the night. Brianna King, the Frontier Conference’s preseason player of the year, shined, as well, knocking down shots from all over the place and dishing out assist after assist to her teammates. She’d finish with 12 points and five assists in just 24 minutes of play.
The Bulldogs take their 1-0 record to Montana State on Tuesday with an exhibition with the Bobcats.
