Montana Tech’s Sean Benson misses cut at NAIA nationals, finishes 86th

MESA, Arizona – Montana Tech’s Sean Benson finished his run at the NAIA Men’s GOlf National Championship on Wednesday at the Las Sendas Club in Mesa, Arizona after missing the cut to continue into the final two days. Benson finished nine-over par (80) in Tuesday’s round to finish tied for 86th in the tournament.

The cut was set at a tie for 39th place, leaving 91 golfers remaining heading into the final rounds on Thursday and Friday.

Benson, who shot a 78 in the opening round, finished the tournament 17-over par (158), missing the cutoff by nine strokes.

Rocky Mountain College is currently in second in the team standings, sitting behind Texas Wesleyan by 14 strokes.
