BUTTE — First-year offensive coordinator Kyle Samson is settling into his new role at Montana Tech.

Samson, who was once a member of MSU-Northern’s coaching staff, has made the transition back into Frontier Conference football. His biggest goal he has set for himself during spring ball this year is getting to know his guys on a personal level. This will will help him evaluate all the weapons he has at his disposal.

“Kind of an evaluation right now getting out here, when you finally get out on the field. So, yeah, each day trying to get a good evaluation of where they fit into what we do,” said Samson. “But I’m the same thing, too, you know, where I want to fit my offense into what we do well. I don’t necessarily say we’re going to run one thing and have our kids mold to that. I think as a coach you have to mold your offense to what your kids do well, so that’s kind of what I’m trying to figure out. It’s a lot of fun. We got a lot of talent, we got some good kids out here, so that’s been an easy job for me.”
