BUTTE — Montana Tech head volleyball coached announced Maureen Jessop and McKenna Kaelber have signed NAIA national letters of intent to become Orediggers next year.
“We are thrilled to add Maureen and McKenna to our program,” said coach Brian Solomon. “Both are not just great athletes, but students as well.”
Jessop, known by Mo to her teammates, led the Corvallis Blue Devils to a second-straight third-place finish at the state tournament this past fall. The 6-foot outside hitter earned first team all-conference and all-state both years. Jessop was selected second-team all-conference as a sophomore. The four-year varsity athlete was named the conference player of the year her senior season.
Jessop also showed her athleticism in track and field for Corvallis. She was named all-conference three times and all-state twice already. Last spring she finished sixth at state in the high jump.
“Mo is an ultra-competitor and has developed into a great all-around player. She can score points in so many ways, at the net and hitting from the back row,” said Solomon. “She is very active in her community and a great teammate. It will be great to have her part of our community.”
Jessop, the daughter of Heather and Lyman Jessop, plans on pursuing a degree in Accounting.
Kaelber is a 5-foot-11 setter from Pasco, Wash. in the Tri-Cities area. The two time all-conference selection played prep for 4A Chiawana High School. Kaelber earned second-team all-state as a senior.
“McKenna is going to add a lot to our offensive options. She is a very strong setter and even hungrier to improve. We couldn’t be happier to have her a part of our program,” said Solomon.
Kaelber, the daughter of Kara and Pat Kaelber, plans on pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety and Health.
