Butte High, Montana Tech and Montana Western athletes, coaches, and staff talk Thanksgiving

A day before we all stuff our faces with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and desserts galore, we checked in with some of the athletes, coaches, and athletic staff at Montana Tech and Montana Western and asked what their favorite food of the holiday is, and what they are thankful for.

Favorite Food:

Arie Grey, Butte High head football coach: “You know Turkey. C’mon, you can’t pass up a great turkey.”

Tjaden Pallister, Montana Tech women’s basketball: “Definitely mashed potatoes and gravy”

Mike Larsen, Montana Western head men’s basketball coach: “Turkey. It makes me get tired, so I love that.”

Hudsyn Dibrito, Montana Tech volleyball: “Ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, put it all together.”

Kooper Kidgell, Montana Western men’s basketball: “Sweet potato casserole, for sure. That’s by far my favorite.”

Cierra Lamey, Montana Western women’s basketball: “Probably all the desserts. We usually have a couple different pies.”

Dion Williams, Montana Tech football: “My mom’s macaroni and cheese, that has to be my favorite.”

AJ Robinson, Montana Tech football: “It’s got to be macaroni, macaroni and cheese.”

Britt Cooper, Montana Western women’s basketball: “Mashed potatoes, I think, or deviled eggs.”

William Mytty, Montana Tech men’s basketball: “Probably the stuffing, or pumpkin pie is pretty good, too.”

Darby Schye, Montana Western women’s basketball: “I know everybody likes turkey, but I like ham.”

Sharlei-Graham Bernisto, Montana Tech women’s basketball: “I’m thankful for my family, so my basketball family, and my family back home.”

Cedric Boone, Montana Western men’s basketball: “I’m thankful for my little brothers, my parents, and my grandparents, for sure.”

Carly Sanon, Montana Tech women’s head basketball coach: “I am very thankful for my family, my husband Ricardo and my team.”

Isaac Akers, Montana Tech assistant football coach: “Family, friends, people that I work with here.”

Lindsay Woolley, Montana Western women’s head basketball coach: “I’m thankful that I’ve got a great group of young women to coach.”

Nick Bowsher, Montana Tech sports information director: “I’m thankful for my family, my wife, my kid.”

Matt Stepan, Montana Tech athletic director: “You know, I’m thankful for a family that’s willing to lend me out to the job.”

Bob Green, legendary Montana Tech head football coach: “Oh, I’m thankful for everything. I’m thankful for life, I’m thankful for health, I’m thankful for family, I’m thankful to live in a unique and wonderful community.”
