BUTTE – Montana Tech is playing the rest of its schedule in must-win mode. The 3-3 Tech football squad has dropped its last two games and is no longer ranked in the top 25.

The key to getting the Diggers back to their winning ways lies in their offense and getting back to being the powerhouse they used to be.

“Our pass game needs to get going,” offensive coordinator Pete Sterbick said. “We were a pretty prominent pass team last year, and that’s something we’ve struggled with. We’ve still been able to run the ball at times. We’ve got to be able to throw the ball down the field. We’ve got to pick and choose our moments to do that, but when those opportunities arise, we’ve got to be able to hit the guys that are open. I’ve got to scheme things up for our guys to be put into position to make plays, so I’ve got to do a better job at that. That’s probably our biggest focus.”

The Diggers will look to improve to 4-3 on Saturday on the road against Eastern Oregon.
