WHITEFISH — Carroll College’s Chad Hemsley and Mika Robinson were named Frontier Conference outdoor track and field athletes of the week, the conference announced Monday.
Both improved in their events during their final chances at the University of Providence Open on Thursday.
A senior from Billings, Robinson used the last-chance meet to qualify for nationals in the pole vault. She went over a height of 3.55 meters (11’7.75″) to earn the NAIA B-Standard. A freshman from Kalispell, Hemsley improved his time in the 400-meter hurdles on Thursday. He ran a time of 54.50 to improve upon his national qualification time.
Both Robinson and Hemsley are part of a 15-Saint contingent that will represent Carroll College at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala., from May 23-25.
