WHITEFISH — Carroll College freshman Shamrock Campbell and sophomore Nikki Krueger were named the Frontier Conference’s field athletes of the week, the league announced on Monday.
Campbell, a freshman from Spokane, Wash., jumping in his first college meet, won the triple jump with a leap of 14.31 meters. It qualified him for nationals by surpassing the NAIA B-standard.
Krueger, a sophomore from Kalispell, finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 12.39 meters and also took eighth in the discus with a throw of 39.19 meters.
Both competed in WAR XII, a major track meet in Spokane, featuring talent from across college divisions.
The Saints track team travels to Missoula for the Montana Open this weekend.
