HELENA — Carroll College women’s soccer coach Dave Thorvilson announced the Fighting Saints’ 2019 recruiting class on Thursday.

“We are very excited for this recruiting class to joins us this fall,” Thorvilson said. “All six of these player have been to our summer camp and interacted with many of our current players and should feel comfortable coming into the program.”

Thorvilson brought in five Montanans and one Coloradan in the class. Thorvilson signed Ally Cleverly of Butte, Kody Clements of Nederland, Colorado, Kami Koster of Missoula, and Blair Stapleton, Amaya Winkler and Melissa Dugger of Billings.

Cleverly brings a polished athletic resume to the Saints. On the pitch, she’s been a four-year varsity starter, three-year captain and twice named Butte High’s Most Valuable Defensive Player. She earned all-state honors twice in her soccer career, as well as an all-conference award. She capped her career by scoring six goals and recording three assists in her senior season. She’s also been a four-time academic all-state selection. Cleverly was also a three-time all-conference basketball player and a three-year state qualifier in track and field.

She’s been a part of the Butte Soccer Club for 10 years, the Rocky Mountain Football Club for six years and the Montana Olympic Development Program for four years. She is a member of the National Honor Society.

She will also play basketball for the Fighting Saints.

“Ally is a three sport standout for Butte High,” Thorvilson said. “I have seen her play just about every position on the field and can’t wait to see her in transition into our team.”
