KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Carroll College has matched the best ranking in program history, rising to No. 2 in the latest NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, which was released Tuesday.

Carroll also reached No. 2 in the 2017-18 season and held that ranking for two weeks. This year’s Saints climbed from No. 4 in the previous poll to second this week, surpassing William Penn (Iowa) and Missouri Baptist, who fell from the Nos. 2 and 3 spots, respectively.

Carroll (20-2 overall, 9-1 Frontier Conference) is one of four Frontier Conference teams in this week’s top 25. Lewis-Clark State, Rocky Mountain College and Providence are also ranked.

Lewis-Clark (16-6, 5-5) slid two spots from 16th to No. 18, and Providence (14-7, 5-5) slipped from No. 22 to 25th. Rocky (15-7, 6-4), which was previously unranked, climbed back into the top 25 at No. 22.

Carroll has won six consecutive games, its most recent loss coming at Rocky. The Saints travel to Great Falls for a showdown with Providence on Friday.

LSU Alexandria (La.) kept its No. 1 ranking, receiving eight first-place votes. Benedictine (Kan.), Vanguard (Calif.) and Missouri Baptist complete the top five. For the complete NAIA men’s basketball top 25, please click here.
