HELENA — Carroll College’s softball program received its first ever votes in the NAIA Top 25.

The NAIA released its Coaches Preseason Top 25 on Tuesday and the Fighting Saints received three votes ahead of the 2019 campaign.

The program, entering its fifth year, has steadily improved under the watch of head coach Aaron Jackson. After the inaugural season ended with a 13-27 overall record, the Saints posted their best season last spring, ending the campaign 28-22 with a berth in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament.

If the Saints’ continue that momentum from a season ago, the Saints may find themselves affixed in the Top 25 rankings in the not so distant future.

The Saints’ season begins Feb. 8 in Lake Elsinore, California, at the NAIA College Classic. The Saints will play seven games in three days at the tournament.
