HELENA — Carroll College senior cornerback Drew Melton was named CoSIDA first-team academic all-American on Thursday.
From Lewiston, Idaho, Melton is a finance major with a double minor in accounting and business with a 3.88 GPA. He finished No. 1 in the NAIA in pass breakups per game at 2.3. He finished tied for fifth in the conference with five interceptions and led the conference in pass breakups at 25. He was sixth on his team in total tackles with 50.
Melton was also named a second team all-conference corner. He helped the Saints to a 5-6 record this past season as a starter on a defense that ranked No. 1 in the Frontier in total defense.
