HELENA — The Kurt Paulson era is off to a fine start at Carroll College.
The Fighting Saints men’s basketball team improved to 7-0 Friday, scoring a program-record 151 points in a dominant win over Salish Kootenai in the first game of the Carroll Classic at the PE Center.
Dane Warp recorded a massive triple-double of 45 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in the 151-72 win. Warp made 20 of 24 field goal attempts and 5 of 8 from beyond the 3-point arc.
Every Saints player that played Friday finished with more than 10 points. Brad King and Jovan Sljivancanin each scored 21 points, with Sljivancanin added a game-high 12 rebounds. Shamrock Campbell (19), Match Burnham (17), Chase Burnham (16) and Matt Wyman (12) completed Carroll’s scoring onslaught.
Julian Jones led the Bison with 20 points.
Both the Saints and the Bison will be back in action Saturday to finish the final day of the Carroll Classic. Salish Kootenai will play the Montana Tech Orediggers at 5:30 p.m., and Carroll College will play the Northwest University Eagles at 7:30 p.m.
