Burnham, Wyman help Carroll College men improve to 7-0

ROCKLIN, Calif. — Match Burnham poured in a game-high 21 points,Matt Wyman added a game-high nine assists and the No. 22-ranked Carroll College Saints improved to 7-0 after defeating William Jessup 86-75 on Monday in Rocklin, California.

Burnham went 14-16 from the foul line, displaying an unrelenting tenacity while attacking the rim against the Warriors.

The Saints as a team shot 29-of-38 (76.3 percent) from the foul line.

Carroll had four players in addition to Burnham in double figures scoring. Matt Wyman had 17, Shamrock Campbell had 15, Dane Warp added 13 and Ife Kalejaiye had 10.

Brad King added eight points and a team-high seven rebounds off the bench.

The Saints battled back and forth with the Warriors in the first half before finally wrestling away a one-point lead at halftime, 40-39.

In the second half, the Saints established more of a cushion, gaining a multiple-possession lead to handle Jessup (5-1) down the stretch.

The Saints (7-0) concluded a weekend road trip that saw the Saints play three games in four days and go remain unbeaten on the season. Carroll next plays at home in the Carroll Classic on Nov. 23-24 in the friendly confines of the PE Center.
