HELENA — There was laughter, there were tears and 20 years of memories as Mike Van Diest announced his retirement Monday morning at a press conference on the campus of Carroll College.
The six-time national champion discussed his travels in the coaching profession and his love for Carroll College, its staff and the hundreds of players coached during his 20-year career with the Fighting Saints.
