LA GRANDE, Ore. — The Carroll College women’s soccer team has been named the “Under Armour Team of the Week” for October 22-28, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
Needing two victories in the final weekend of regular season play to earn a piece of the CCC women’s soccer regular season championship, the Saints handled business at home with wins over Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon.
On Friday, Carroll downed the Lady Owls 1-0 at Nelson Stadium behind the stellar play of goalkeeper Devan Murvitt. The senior recorded seven saves on the day for her fourth shutout of the season.
On Sunday, senior midfielder Kirsten Girolami delivered the winning goal in the108th minute to defeat SOU and cap of her final game as Saint.
Carroll (10-6-2, 9-1-2 CCC) will enter the CCC Championships as the No. 2 seed and will take on No. 7 Rocky Mountain College on Nov. 7 in Springfield, Ore.
