Carroll College men’s basketball downs Stone Child 135-63

HELENA — The Carroll College Fighting Saints beat the Stone Child Bear Paws in an exhibition men’s basketball game by a score of 135-63 on Thursday night. Carroll opened the game with a dunk by Matt Wyman and the Saints kept marching, going on a 19-2 run in the first three and a half minutes of the first half.

The majority of the contest was reminiscent of the first few minutes of the first half with six Fighting Saints putting up 14 or more points and a team total of 47 rebounds and 21 steals. Wyman led all scorers with 28 points, while hauling in seven rebounds. Ife Kalejaiye (23 points), Dane Warp (21) and Alex Santos (20) added to the offensive attack in first-year coach Kurt Paulson’s first contest.

Santos had a double-double with 20 points and 10 assists, while freshman Shamrock Campbell added 15 points and a team-high nine rebounds in the win. Carroll hit 13 3-pointers and made 26 of 28 free throws.

Stone Child’s Skyler Parisian led the Bear Paws’ offense with 16 points, going 3-for-5 from beyond the arc.

Carroll College will officially open its season on Friday against the University of Lethbridge at 7:30 p.m. in Helena.
