HELENA — Carroll College senior Samantha Mundel earned her third consecutive Frontier Conference women’s cross country runner of the week award, the conference announced on Monday.

Originally from Coram, Mundel ran to a first-place finish at the Argos Invitational this past weekend. She finished in a time of 18 minutes, 48 seconds, beating out a field of 35.

Mundel and the Saints are back in action at the University of Montana on Sept. 28.

HELENA — Carroll College freshman defender McKenna Payne earned the Cascade Collegiate Conference’s defensive player of the week award, the league announced on Monday.

Payne played strong defense during the Saints’ big weekend on the road. The freshman from Winchester, Calif., and the rest of the Carroll defense allowed just one goal in two matches this weekend.

Carroll earned a 2-0 win over Corban and a 4-1 win over Northwest Christian to keep the Saints undefeated in Cascade play (2-0-1).

The Saints host a pair of games this weekend. Carroll takes on Multnomah on Friday and Warner Pacific on Saturday.
