HELENA — Trips out to Washington, California and Canada and six preseason home games highlight the 2018-19 men’s basketball schedule.
Carroll College men’s basketball coach Kurt Paulson announced his team’s upcoming schedule on Friday.
“We have a challenging schedule this year for Carroll men’s basketball,” Paulson said. “It will be a great test for our group all year long as we blend the core of some extremely successful teams with some young and new players.”
The Saints have games against Warner Pacific and Eastern Oregon early on, the latter game being a homecoming for former Carroll College assistant Carlito Labarda Jr., who now helms the Mountaineers.
Carroll travels out to Seattle to visit Northwest University for a pair of games in November. The Saints will face Corban and then host Northwest on Nov. 9 and 10.
Immediately after the trip out to the Pacific Northwest, the Saints will travel to Rocklin, California, to take on a talented William Jessup program on Nov. 12.
Familiar matchups with Salish Kootenai College, University of Calgary, University of Lethbridge and University of Alberta also dot the non-conference schedule.
“Scheduling is always a big endeavor and this year especially with a late start but we are very excited to finalize our slate with such quality games,” Paulson said. “Our pre-season will no doubt get us ready for the Frontier Conference. We are grateful to land six home games in the pre-season along with playing in some two game classics, and a trip to NAIA power William Jessup. Our players are ready for the games and will represent Carroll with pride.”
Carroll’s first conference game will be a home contest against the University of Providence on Nov. 29.
Saints fans will get a chance to see Carroll’s 2018-19 team take the floor in a competitive setting next month. The season begins in earnest with the Purple Gold Scrimmage on Oct. 9 in the PE Center at 6 p.m.
