GREAT FALLS – Days after leading Montana Western to its first ever NAIA national championship, Brianna King was named the NAIA Player of the Year and a first-team all-American by the NAIA selection committee.

Lindsay Wooley was named the NAIA Coach of the Year in his seventh season as the Bulldogs’ mentor. Western finished the season with a 30-4 overall record, with King averaging over 22 points per game.

King, who was also named the WBCA Player of the Year earlier this month, was joined on the first team by Carroll College forward Hannah Dean, who averaged 15 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and one block per game as a senior. Dean is the first player to be named to the first team in over a decade, according to a Carroll media release.

Providence sophomore guard Emilee Maldonado was named second-team all-America. Seven Frontier Conference players were listed as honorable mention all-Americans, including Christine Denney (Carroll), Parker Esary (Providence), Britt Cooper (Western), Alecia Chamberlain (Rocky Mountain) and Mesa Williams (Montana Tech).
