Montana Western women pace 5 Frontier Conference teams in NAIA top 25

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Montana Western slid down one spot from No. 3 to No. 4 in the latest NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, which was released Tuesday.

Western (21-2, 12-2 Frontier Conference) remains in the top five despite a loss at home to Carroll College. The Bulldogs, though, were leapfrogged by Campellsville (Ky.) for the No. 3 ranking. The Bulldogs are one of five Frontier Conference teams in the top 25, as Carroll College (18-7, 10-4) held steady at No. 8, Lewis-Clark State (18-7, 8-6) stayed 17th, the University of Providence (17-9, 6-8) fell one spot from No. 22 to No. 23, and Rocky Mountain College (16-10, 7-7) slid three spots to No. 24.

Columbia (Mo.) took over the No.1  ranking for the first time in program history. Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) fell No. 2. The Master’s (Calif.) rounds out the top five.
