WHITEFISH — Jacob Bakken of Rocky Mountain College, Riley Martello of Montana Western and Arthur Flynn of Montana Tech were named Frontier Conference football offensive, defensive and special teams players of the week on Monday.

Bakken, a 6-foot-4, 195-pound senior quarterback from Wibaux, completed 16 of 24 passes for 240 yards and three touchdowns in the Battlin’ Bears’ 34-21 win over previously unbeaten Southern Oregon. Rocky moved up to No. 16 in the NAIA top 25 after the win.

Martello helped Western rally past Montana Tech for a 32-19 win over Saturday. The 6-1, 220-pound senior linebacker from Bozeman recorded one solo tackles, one tackle-for-loss, nine assisted tackles, a sack and an interception in the win. He returned the interception for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to help clinch the Bulldogs’ come-from-behind win.

Flynn, a 6-3, 250-pound junior defensive lineman from Orland, Calif., had a monster game in the Orediggers’ loss. He blocked three kicks — one field goal and two point-after attempts, with one of the PAT blocks being returned for a safety.
