KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Rocky Mountain College golfers Eryn Ellis and Colton Murphy have earned All-America status, as announced Wednesday by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

The All-American teams are selected by the NAIA Golf Coaches’ Association All-America Committee.

Ellis finished tied for 31st at the 2018 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship last week at the PGA National resort. She ended the three rounds of play at 21-over, 237, and was up to a tie for 26th before the final round was washed out due to rain.

Ellis was the individual medalist at the 2018 Frontier Conference Championship and was named First Team All-Frontier Conference. She recorded four top-10 finishes during the regular season and led the Battlin’ Bears in scoring average.

Rocky has had six female players named NAIA All-American a total of 10 times.

Murphy was named to the NAIA third team.

He finished the season by placing 14th at the 2018 NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship. At the event played at TPC Deere Run, Murphy shot 2-over, 286, to make the All-Tournament Team and the automatic invite to next year’s National Championship.

In Rocky’s other postseason event, the Frontier Conference Championship, Murphy finished in a tie for second by shooting 5-over, 221. He also had top-5 finishes at the MSU-Northern Invite and the Coastal Collegiate Classic.

Murphy is the first player from Rocky to be named All-American since 2014. He becomes the seventh Battlin’ Bears All-American all-time.
