Hayden Flohr leads Rocky Mountain College to Frontier Championships lead

TEMPE, Ari. – Sophomore Hayden Flohr fired a 77 Monday aftering, tying the best score of the day and leading her Rocky Mountain College Battlin’ Bears to the team lead after the opening round of the Frontier Conference Women’s Championships at the Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Arizona.

Flohr was +5 through her first six holes, but played the final 12 in even par to take the Day 1 lead. Lewis-Clark State’s Kayla Monroe also shot 77.

Rocky shot 329 (+41) as a team to take a nine-shot lead over L-C State heading into the final two days of the event. Sophomore Anna DeMars is tied for third after an 82, while junior Eryn Ellis is two shots back in sixth place.

Amanda Conner qualified as Rocky’s fourth team score with an 86, while Laurel native Morgan O’Neil shot 89.

Montana Tech sits in third after a 367, with Carroll College two shots behind.

The tournament resumes Tuesday morning, with the final round slated for Wednesday.
