DILLON – Montana Western’s mens basketball team took care of business in the opening round of the Frontier Conference tournament by handling Montana Tech at home Tuesday night, 68-56.

The Bulldogs built a double digit first half lead thanks to a trifecta of 3-pointers by Dom Robinson. Robinson finished the night with 15 points and four assists.

Western pushed their lead as large as 26 in the second half before the Orediggers made the result appear closer than the game was. Tech shot just 36 percent from the field, and were out-rebounded 34-25.

Brandon Jones continued his strong play for the Bulldogs, posting 14 points on 7-for-8 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds. Zaccheus Darko-Kelly, last week’s NAIA National Player of the Week, stuffed the stat sheet finishing with nine points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

Montana Western will move on to the semifinals of the Frontier Conference tournament where they will host Lewis-Clark State College on Friday March 2nd.
