The Carroll College softball team has had limited time to practice this season, but the Saints already have a player of the week.
Allison Williams was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference’s Red Lion softball pitcher of the week on Monday after going 2-1 at the NAIA So Cal Classic in West Covina, Calif.
Williams, a sophomore from Kalispell, pitched 20 innings in three games, allowing just two earned runs. Her one loss came in a 1-0 pitchers’ duel against Vanguard. Williams finished the tournament striking out 20 batters and allowing 14 hits.
At the plate, Williams batted .385 with five hits, including two home runs, and four RBI.
Carroll is 4-3 on the season and next travels to Minot, N.D. for games against Minot State and Minnesota Crookston.
