Big second half propels Western men past Providence

DILLON — The Montana Western men’s basketball team started slow, but outscored Providence by 20 points in the second half to earn a 77-67 win in Dillon on Saturday.

After being rewarded with a commemorative ball for scoring his 1,000th career point on Thursday, Dom Robinson led all scorers with 20 points. Zaccheus Darko-Kelly, Brandon Jones, and Kooper Kidgell all helped Robinson, producing double-digit scoring efforts.

Sergio Berkley led the Argo men with 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting. DuShaun Rice was the only other member in double digits, adding 13 points.

Western is now 20-5 overall and 10-4 in the Frontier Conference. Providence is 10-14 overall and falls to 4-10 in conference play.
