LEWISTON, Idaho – Just a couple missed shots in the final two minutes of play were the difference in a tight game between N0. 19 University of Providence women’s basketball and Lewis-Clark State College that saw the Warriors come out on top 58-51.

UP was down 3 points with 15 seconds left and found freshman Emilee Maldonado open in the short corner, but her shot was a few inches off, hit the rim, and LCSC grabbed the rebound to essentially close the game.

While the Lady Argos continued a habit of turning the ball over too many times, losing it 18 times, they actually forced the Warriors into more at 19. The difference was that LC State turned UP’s turnovers into 25 points, while the Lady Argos managed only 13 points off of LCSC mistakes.

UP’s senior guard Stephanie McDonagh was held under 10 points for just the second time in 2017-18 and yet almost managed a double-double with 9 points and 8 rebounds. Freshman post Parker Esary did get a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Argo’s record is now 16-8 (7-6).
