HAVRE, Mont. – No. 3 Shonn Roberts took care of business and No. 9 Tyler Webley beat previously ranked Steeler French, but some other disappointing losses led to a 27-15 loss for No. 6 University of Providence men’s wrestling to rival No. 13 Montana State University-Northern.

Roberts, UP’s highest ranked wrestler and recently named NAIA Wrestler of the Week, was leading 6-2 and looked poised for at least a major decision if not a technical fall, but ended up winning on an injury forfeit.

At 184, junior Tyler Webley, who was coming off of a knee injury, faced Steeler French who had been ranked most of the year. Webley still didn’t look 100 percent but managed to pull off a takedown right on the edge of the circle in overtime to win a 3-1 minute decision.

The stunning loss of the night came at 174, where No. 4 Adrian Lyons-Lopez dropped a 4-3 decision to an unranked opponent.

The loss ends a three-dual winning streak for UP over Northern and give the Argos a 9-6 record in duals in 2017-18.
