HELENA – Mike Van Diest and the Saints are welcoming their new recruiting class Wednesday on National Signing Day. Bringing in guys from all over Montana and the rest of the West. And Van Diest is, like all coaches at this time of the year, both excited and realistic of this year’s new group of Fighting Saints.

“Everybody likes their recruiting class this time of year,” said Van Diest. “They look good on paper. But I like their personalities. I like their pizzazz that they carry with them. I like their, I don’t know, there is just something about individuals that you get to know them outside the football part. When you visit campus, you’re at the school, you’re in their homes visiting with them, you get to know them a little bit better and see what kind of person they are and I think they are a good fit for Carroll College. We’ve addressed some various strong needs at the offensive line and defensive positions. I’m still trying to find maybe one or two defensive backs. It will all come to fruition this falls when they step on the field together as a freshman core and see how they feel with our older players.”
