Sparks propels Montana Tech women past MSU-Northern

HAVRE – Montana Tech women’s basketball defeated Montana State Northern at the Armory 71-59.

Always a tough road game, the Orediggers haven’t won in Havre since 2016. Tech (13-7, 2-5) lead the series 2-0 over Northern this season.

The Diggers shot 47.4 percent from the field in the game and hit 9 of 22 from three point range.

Montana Tech trailed 19-15 after the first but took a 33-31 lead into the break. Tech did not give up the lead the rest of the game.

Hannah Sparks led the all scorers with 16 points going 6 for 11 from the field and 4 for 4 from the free throw line.
Sparks added four rebounds and five assists to her totals.

Shay Potter had 12 points and Kourtney and Kaylynn Coverdell each had 11.

Kaylynn led Tech with seven rebounds.

Brandy Lambourne led the Skylights with 15 points.

Montana Tech returns home next week when they host Carroll College on Thursday.
