Lamey leads balanced attack as Montana Western defeats MSU-Northern women

DILLON – Cierra Lamey scored 15 points, Brianna King added 13, Britt Cooper 11 and Paige Holmes had 10 as Montana Western earned a 78-58 victory over MSU-Northern on Saturday.

Lamey knocked in six field goals, including a pair of 3-pointers, while Cooper was monstrous on the glass with 16 rebounds, earning a double-double. Western, which trailed 34-32 at halftime, outscored the Skylights 46-24 in the second half.

Northern got 19 points from Peyton Filius, while Jacy Thompson added 13 points and eight rebounds in the loss. Shiloh McCormick also scored 13 for the Skylights.

Western now sits 12-6 overall and improved to 2-4 in Frontier Conference play. The win snapped a three-game league losing streak.

Northern fell to 9-8 and 1-5 in league play.
