GREAT FALLS — The University of Providence will host the annual Battle of the Rockies wrestling tournament later this week with duals on Friday and open competition on Saturday.
Head coach Steve Komac says it will be good to be back at home after recent road trips.
"It's great to wrestle in your front of your home crowd, it just is," Komac said. "It's great to see the local faces that support us year round, whether we're on the road or not. So it's always awesome to wrestle at home."
The Argo men's team is off to a great start to the season in Komac's first year at the helm. The team enters the Battle of the Rockies coming off a conference dual win over Warner Pacific to make the Argos 3-0. Komac also said his roster isn't even at full strength yet.
"It is a very strong team. And it's not at full health yet, and some of it's injury and some of it's just by design of graduation plans for a few kids," Komac said. "And next semester, we're going to add a few kids to our lineup. And we really think it is a team designed and built through the previous coaches to be a national-contending type team. And I don't think it's far off."
