WHITEFISH – Rocky Mountain College swept the Frontier Conference men's and women's indoor track and field athlete of the week awards, the league announced on Monday. The Battlin' Bears competed at the Yellow Jacket Open hosted by Black Hills State in Spearfish, S.D.
Landon Lynch and Jackson Wilson took the men's honors, while Dakota Manecke and Mei-Li Stevens earned the women's awards.
Lynch, a freshman from Ronan, is the field athlete of the week after setting a personal-best mark of 12.61 meters. Wilson, a sophomore from Box Elder, S.D., is the track athlete of the week. He finished second out of 16 runners in the 3,000-meter run with time of 8:55.19.
Manecke, a freshman from Cut Bank, is the field athlete of the week. Her pole vault of 3.12 meters at the Yellow Jacket Open was personal collegiate best. Stevens, a senior from Lodge Grass, is the track athlete of the week. She was the 3,000-meter champion with a personal-best time of 10:46.18, which also set a new Rocky Mountain College school record.
