WHITEFISH -- Markaela Francis added the final Frontier Conference women's basketball player of the week of the 2019-20 regular season.
The league announced Monday that the Rocky Mountain College senior won the award after helping the Battlin' Bears close the regular season with a pair of home wins. Francis, a 6-foot post from Great Falls, averaged 30 points, nine rebounds, 3.5 assists and one steal per game as Rocky defeated No. 21 Lewis-Clark State 71-65 and Montana Tech 72-59. Francis made 23 of her 33 field goal attempts (70 percent) and 14 of 19 attempts from the free throw line.
Travis Yenor of Lewis-Clark State was selected for the men's honor after averaging 25.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and one steal per game last week. The Warriors are the No. 1 seed for the Frontier Conference playoffs, which start Tuesday.
