BILLINGS - The Rocky Mountain College Battlin' Bears men scored four goals in the second half to earn a big 4-1 win over the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers Friday afternoon.

The Mountaineers' (4-8-1, 2-6-0 CCC) Elvis Pavon scored just 42 seconds into the game with an assist from Jorge Chavez. But Rocky's offense caught fire after the break. Nolan Sherwood tied the game in the 47th minute with an assist from Pablo Ferreira. Within 30 seconds the Battlin' Bears were holding the lead as Ferreira scored a goal of his own off a pass from Rodrigo Goncalves.

Rocky kept the pressure on Eastern Oregon. Quique Garcia knocked in a goal in the 50th minute off an assist from Ferreira. Sky Swenson scored the game's final goal in the 78th minute unassisted.

Ferreira finished the game with a goal and two assists.

Rocky's women meanwhile were dealt a late blow, as Megan Farrington scored in the 101st minute of double overtime to give No. 11 Eastern Oregon a 2-1 win in the first game of the doubleheader. Taking a pass from teammate Mackinley Gregus, Farrington powered the ball over goalkeeper Maia Wetzel's outstretched arms and into the top of the net.

Farrington opened the scoring in the 5th minute with an unassisted goal to put the Mountaineers (9-1-2, 6-1-1 CCC) up 1-0 early. The Battlin' Bears' (7-3-1, 4-2-1 CCC) Lauryn Gamache responded in the 41st minute with a goal of her own. Gamache powered a ball into the top of the net from more than 20 yards out to tie the game at 1-1 heading into the half. Haley Nicholson assisted.

Both Rocky teams will host their final home games of the regular season Sunday against the College of Idaho. The women's game is set for 12:00 p.m., with the men to follow at 2:30 p.m.
