Providence's Zaccheus Darko-Kelly, Carroll College's Jamie Pickens take Frontier Conference awards

WHITEFISH – Zaccheus Darko-Kelly of the University of Providence and Jamie Pickens of Carroll College were named the Frontier Conference men's and women's basketball players of the week.

Darko-Kelly, a 6-foot-6 senior guard/forward from Great Falls, helped No. 10 Providence go 3-0 for the week. The Argos defeated Montana Western 118-110 in double overtime on Wednesday, and then swept Montana Tech with a 99-80 win on Saturday and an 84-78 win on Sunday.

For the week, Darko-Kelly averaged 22.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game. He made 24 of 54 field goal attempts from the field and 14 of 16 from free throw line.

Pickens, a 6-2 sophomore forward from Helena, helped sixth-ranked Carroll to a 2-0 weekend. The Saints swept their series against MSU-Northern, winning 76-67 on Saturday and 83-46 on Sunday.

Pickens averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals per game. She was 14 of 24 from the field, 2 of 3 from 3-point range and 6 of 8 from the free throw line. She recorded back-to-back double-doubles in the wins over the Skylights.
