KANSAS CITY, Mo. — University of Providence guard Zaccheus Darko-Kelly was named an NAIA first-team all-American on Thursday, one of six Frontier Conference men's basketball players to receive recognition.

Carroll College forward Jovan Sljivancanin was a second-team selection after being an honorable mention choice last year. Four other Frontier players were honorable mentions this year: Carroll guard Shamrock Campbell, Montana Tech guard Sindou Diallo, Montana Western forward Jalen Hodges and Providence guard Marcus Stephens.

It was the second year in a row as a first-team selection for Darko-Kelly, a Great Falls native. He also won his second straight Frontier Conference player of the year award earlier in March. Darko-Kelly led Providence in every statistical category for the second straight season, guiding UP to a 17-3 record and a Frontier Conference championship, the program's first since 1984.

He averaged 18.4 points, 9.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks while shooting 46.8% from the field, 32.3% from 3-point ragne and 90.5% from the free throw line. He is also ranked sixth nationally in free throw percentage, 10th in rebounds per game and 16th in assists per game.

Sljivancanin finished the season averaging 17.4 points and 8.9 rebounds per game for Carroll. His Saint teammate Campbell averaged 14.3 points and 3.1 assists per game.

Diallo averaged 19.6 points per game for Tech, while Hodges averaged 18.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game for Western. Stephens, a junior college transfer, averaged 15.1 points and 4.1 rebounds in his first year at Providence.
