BUTTE — It's been a tough month for Carly Sanon and the Montana Tech women's basketball team.
After a loss to rival Montana Western at home on Saturday the Orediggers are now riding a seven-game losing streak heading into a weekend pair of games against Providence and Montana State-Northern.
Six of those seven losses are conference games, which are beginning to count more than ever as the Frontier Conference tournament looms. It's been a tough stretch of games that will only get tougher for Sanon's squad, and with those two big games on the horizon against the Argos and the Lights, the time for getting back into the win column starts right now.
“I think obviously after the Northern loss, that was a tough one for us in overtime, and you have a lot more days to think about it," said Sanon. "And now, like I said, I think we try to figure out how to fix what (mistakes) we made and think about the loss, and we’re onto the next game. We got to bring a positive effort and be ready to go.”
Tech (11-9 overall, 1-7 conference) will play at Providence (12-8, 3-5) at 5:30 p.m. Friday and at Northern (15-5, 4-4) at 6 p.m. Saturday.
