WHITEFISH – Tiara Gilham of MSU-Northern is the Frontier Conference’s women’s basketball player of the week, the league announced Monday. Max Clark of Montana Western won the men's award.
Gilham, a 5-foot-10 senior forward from Browning, helped MSU-Northern split its home series with Montana Western. The Skylights lost Saturday 75-58 and edged the Bulldogs 72-70 on Sunday. Gilham averaged 19 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game in the series, and was 15 of 28 from the field and 7 of 8 from the free throw line. She scored the winning basket in the final seconds in Sunday's win.
Clark is a 6-4 senior guard from Lawrenceville, Ga. He averaged 29 points, 6.0 rebounds and 8.5 assists per game last week as Montana Western swept its road series at MSU-Northern. The Bulldogs won 82-71 Saturday night and 65-63 Sunday afternoon. Clark, who scored a career-high 39 points on Saturday, was 25-of-37 shooting for the week, including a 3-of-6 mark from 3-point range. He also made 5 of 6 from free throw line.
