MSU-Northern's David Harris, Providence's Emilee Maldonado earn Frontier Conference honors

WHITEFISH -- David Harris of MSU-Northern and Emilee Maldonado of the University of Providence have been selected the Frontier Conference men’s and women's basketball players of the week, the league announced Monday.

Harris, a 6-foot-4 senior guard from Tacoma, Wash., helped MSU-Northern go 2-0 over the weekend, defeating Rocky Mountain College 71-55 on Saturday and 68-58 on Sunday.

Harris averaged 19.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.0 steal per game in the two wins. He was 14 of 23 from the field, including 6 of 12 on 3-pointers, and 5 of 5 from free throw line.

Maldonado, a 5-5 senior guard from Sunnyside, Wash., and Providence went 2-1 last week. The Argos won at MSU-Northern 73-57 and then split their weekend series at Montana Western. The Argos lost Saturday 66-52 and won Sunday 67-64.

Maldonado averaged 16.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.0 steal over the three-game stretch. She was 19 of 31 from the field, 11 of 18 from 3-point range and 1 of 2 from the free throw line.
