MSU-Northern wrestling tops Warner Pacific in dual

HAVRE – The MSU-Northern Lights' wrestling team earned a dual win over Warner Pacific Thursday night at the Armory Gymnasium, 39-16.

No. 11 Robert Pair opened the dual with a third-period fall over Kaleo Gambala at 138 pounds to give the Lights a 6-0 lead. Warner Pacific’s Austin Wallace-Lister answered with a 16-7 major decision over No. 12 Landon Bailey to make it 6-4.

The teams traded wins over the next four weight classes, bringing the score to 18-16 Northern. The Lights won the next four matches, including two forfeits, to run away with their second dual win of the year.

Chase Short, Clayton Currier, Caden Hilliard and Pair earned pins for the Lights.

MSU-Northern will hit the road this weekend for the Spokane Open on Sunday. Warner Pacific heads to Great Falls to face No. 14 Providence on Friday night.
