WHITEFISH – Montana Western student-athletes won the Frontier Conference men's and women's cross country runner of the week awards on Monday.
Eireann O’Connor, a junior from Jackson, Wyo., won the women's award, while Josh Jessop, a senior from Corvallis, claimed the men's honor.
At the Carroll Open hosted by Carroll College last week, O'Connor finished fifth out of 39 runners in the 5K with a time of 19:50. O’Connor was the highest-placing NAIA runner in the meet and led Montana Western to team title.
Also at the Carroll Open, Jessop finished 10th out of 36 runners in the 8K with a time of 27.25. He was the top NAIA runner in the race.
