DILLON -- The Montana Western men's basketball program has canceled its games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
The Bulldogs were set to open their 2020-21 season with games against College of Idaho, but UMW canceled the games "out of precautionary measures due to covid-19," according to a media release. The release also state that the cancellations were "not related to any UMW player or staff member."
College of Idaho did play in Dillon on Friday, handing Montana Tech a 79-70 loss at Straugh Gymnasium.
Western has yet to play a game this basketball season, which has already seen numerous cancellations and schedule adjustments because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Bulldogs are next scheduled to play on Dec. 2 against Yellowstone Christian College. They then have an exhibition game scheduled at Utah State on Dec. 8.
Montana Western is slated to begin Frontier Conference play on Dec. 12 and 13 with home games against Montana Tech.
