DILLON -- University of Montana Western head men's basketball coach Mike Larsen has announced the signing of Treyton Paxton to an NAIA National Letter of Intent.

Paxton is 6-foot-0 guard from Riverton, Wyo. and is a 2019 graduate of Riverton High School. As a prep he scored 1,001 career points, averaging 16 points per game as a junior and 22 as a senior. He was on the 2017 state championship team. He is a two-time all-state selection in both basketball and football, won the 2019 Flaming Gorge Dunk Contest and was selected for the Montana-Wyoming all-star basketball series, which has since been canceled. He joins the Bulldogs as a sophomore after spending a season at Central Wyoming College, where he shot 38 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range with an assist to turnover ratio of 1.3.

"We are extremely excited about Treyton," Larsen said. "He comes to us from an excellent program with a great coach. Treyton is a great shooter that is unbelievably tough."

He is the son of Curt and Kara Paxton and plans on majoring in business at Montana Western.
