WHITEFISH – The Frontier Conference announced that Montana Tech junior Sean Ramsbacher was selected as the men’s golfer of the week on Monday.
Ramsbacher, a Missoula native, won medalist honors at the 2019 Argos Invitational Tournament hosted by the University of Providence in Great Falls with a three-round score of 8-under-par 205.
Ramsbacher was the only golfer in the field to record under-par scores in all three rounds of competition. Ramsbacher’s 3-under-par 68 in the final round helped the Orediggers come back from 12 strokes behind entering the final round and claim the school’s first team title in a decade.
Montana Tech Golf returns to action on Sept. 23 at the Carroll College Invitational at Green Meadow Country Club in Helena.
Hailey Derrickson of Rocky Mountain College was selected as the women’s golfer of the week.
Derrickson, a freshman from Austin, Texas, tied teammate Morgan O’Neil for first place and claimed medalist honors in a playoff at the 2019 Argo Invitational. Derrickson shot a 12-over-par 154 in regulation.
