Montana Tech volleyball shocks No. 3 Indiana Wesleyan at NAIA National Championships

SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- The Montana Tech volleyball team upset No. 3 Indiana Wesleyan 22-25, 25-22, 25-18, 23-25, 15-11 at the 40th annual NAIA National Championships during pool play in Sioux City, Iowa on Wednesday night.

The 19th-ranked Orediggers handed the Wildcats only their second loss of the season. Indiana Wesleyan was 35-1 coming into the match.

Karina Mickelson paced the Orediggers with 24 kills, while Florence native and Tech libero Sabrina Hopcroft tied a game-high 31 digs. It was the 250th career win for Tech coach Brian Solomon.

Montana Tech wraps up pool play on Thursday against Saint Mary's (Kan.) at 7 p.m. (MST). Bracket play begins on Friday with the Round of 16.
