Montana Tech, University of Providence athletes garner weekly volleyball awards

WHITEFISH -- McKenna Kaelber, Sacha Legros and Morgan Ness were named the Frontier Conference volleyball players of the week, the league announced on Monday.

Montana Tech's Kaelber collected the setter of the week accolade after leading the No. 18 Orediggers to straight-set sweeps over No. 16 Rocky and rival Montana Western. The 5-foot-11 freshman from Pasco, Wash. averaged 14.5 assists and two digs per set for the 22-6, 7-3 Orediggers.

Legros, a University of Providence outside hitter, was named Frontier Conference defender of the week after leading the Argos past MSU-Northern and Carroll College. Providence (19-6, 7-3) defeated the Skylights 3-1 before edging the Saints in five sets. Legros, a 5-foot-9 junior from Verviers, Belgium, averaged 9.11 digs per set in the victories.

Lewis-Clark State's Morgan Ness was named league attacker of the week, posting numbers of 3.71 kills per set and a .292 attack percentage for the Warriors.

This week's matches include Tech at Carroll College on Wednesday, and Providence at Western on Thursday.
