ANACONDA -- The 2020 Frontier Conference golf season has been a lesson of consistency so far. The Montana Tech men and Rocky Mountain College women won team titles for the third consecutive meet, as both teams won the titles at the Oredigger Old Works Invite on Sunday.
Tech's men actually took the top two spots, with the Orediggers' top team carding a cumulative 319 strokes and their 'B' team placing second with 324 strokes. Tech's top team was paced by individual medalist Brady Cady, who shot a 3-over-par 75 on a difficult day on the legendary Jack Nicklaus-designed course at Old Works Golf Club. Isaiah Weldon, golfing on Tech's 'B' team, placed second with a 76, and Matt Hobbs, also golfing for Tech's 'B' team, tied for third with a 77. Rocky Mountain College's Chase Morehouse and Schaefer Paladichuk also fired 77s to round out the top five. For complete men's individual results, click here.
The Battlin' Bears placed third in the team standings at 325 strokes, followed by Montana State-Northern (354) and Carroll College (398).
On the women's side, Rocky Mountain College's Claire Wright won her second straight invite, firing a 5-over-par 77 at Old Works, nine strokes clear of second-place Tanna Campbell of Montana Tech and Amanda Conner of Rocky, who both shot 86s. Carroll College's Caroline Hobson and Sydnee Nowlen tied for fourth with 88s.
In addition to Wright and Conner, Rocky got a top-10 finish out of Kaelyn Volk, who carded a 94. For complete women's individual results, click here.
The Battlin' Bears finished with a 367 strokes as a team. Carroll was second at 370 strokes, with Montana Tech (373) and Montana State-Northern (432) finishing third and fourth, respectively.
